Umrah Visa FAQ 2026
Yes. All UK passport holders (regardless of nationality of origin) require a valid Umrah visa to enter Saudi Arabia for the purpose of performing Umrah. The Umrah visa is single-entry, valid for 30 days, and is distinct from a Saudi tourist visa. UK citizens cannot use a tourist e-visa for Umrah — you must apply for a specific Umrah visa through a licensed operator like Perfect Umrah & Travels.
Required documents include: 1) Original valid UK passport (minimum 6 months remaining validity from date of travel; must have at least 2 blank visa pages). 2) Completed visa application form (we provide this). 3) 2 recent passport photos (white background, 35x45mm, no glasses, face uncovered). 4) Confirmed flight booking and hotel confirmation. 5) Meningitis ACWY vaccination certificate (required — minimum 10 days before departure). 6) For women: if travelling without a Mahram in a group, specific documentation required (our team advises). 7) For minors: birth certificate and both parents' consent letter.
Standard processing time is 5–10 working days from submission of complete documents. Urgent processing is available in 2–3 working days (additional fee applies). We recommend applying a minimum of 3 weeks before your departure date to allow for any unforeseen delays. Our visa team (Hafiz Amir) has a strong track record of fast approvals — the majority of our visa applications are approved within 3–5 days.
Yes — a meningitis ACWY vaccination certificate is a mandatory requirement for all Umrah pilgrims, regardless of nationality. The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before your departure. Proof of vaccination (yellow card or NHS letter) must be submitted with your visa application. The NHS provides meningitis ACWY vaccines at GP practices or travel clinics — confirm the schedule with your GP as soon as you book.
Since 2021, Saudi Arabia has allowed women over 45 to perform Umrah as part of an organised group without a Mahram (male guardian). Women under 45 in organised groups may also now travel without a Mahram under updated rules. The rules continue to evolve — our team stays current with the latest Saudi Ministry of Hajj & Umrah guidance. Contact us for the most up-to-date requirements specific to your situation.
You must travel on one consistent passport — whichever passport your Umrah visa is issued on. Most UK nationals of Pakistani, Indian, or Bangladeshi origin hold a British passport and apply for the Umrah visa on that. If you hold a Pakistani/Indian/Bangladeshi passport in addition to a British passport, our visa team can advise on the most efficient application route for your specific situation.
The Saudi government Umrah visa fee varies but is typically included or subsidised within package pricing from licensed operators. For standalone visa assistance (without a package), fees range from £75–150 including our service charge. The exact fee depends on your nationality, type of service required, and processing speed. Contact Hafiz Amir directly (our Visa Specialist) via WhatsApp for a confirmed quote.
Umrah visas cannot normally be extended beyond 30 days. However, it is possible to apply for a tourist e-visa separately if you wish to stay longer for sightseeing (Jeddah, Riyadh, etc.). Umrah visas cannot be used for employment or study. We recommend planning your itinerary to fit within the 30-day validity from entry.
