There is no minimum age for Umrah — infants and young children may accompany their parents. Children who have not yet reached puberty (not yet baligh) perform Umrah as a Sunnah rather than an obligatory act, but the reward is earned for both child and guardian. Saudi Arabia does not have a minimum age restriction for Umrah visas.

Children under 2 years who do not require their own seat on the flight typically travel free for the land portion. They will need their own Saudi Umrah visa. Children aged 2–12 are typically charged 50–75% of the adult land price (cot/shared bed). Children over 12 are generally charged the adult rate. April–October are hotter months (35–45°C). We recommend Easter or October half-term as the best balance of mild weather and school holiday timing for families.

If the mother is travelling with her husband, no additional Mahram is needed. If a mother is travelling without a male guardian (as part of an organised group), the current Saudi rules allow women over 45 to travel without a Mahram — rules for younger mothers vary by circumstance.
